If you want the words to this other Unicorn Song that Marsha is talking
about it can be found at http://www.peterpaulandmary.com/music/f-12-06.htm
The Peter Paul and Mary site is excellent for lyrics (and chords too) to
their songs! - Light one Candle has chords here...
The Irish Rovers one which Debbie is requesting (which I learned as a
drinking song, as an aside) is a ball to do with kids.
Words are at:
http://www.imt.net/~zelonis/unicorn.html
There are hand motions to the chorus, which goes like this:
There were Green Aligators (Put your hands out in front and them up and down
like aligator jaws)
And long necked geese (Put one arm out in front with your hand like a goose
head and neck)
Some humpty backed camels (Either make two motions up and down like your
hand is a dolphin going up and down through the water, or put one arm up and
then on your back as far as you can to make a "hump" behind your head.)
And some chimpanzees (You can probably guess this one, but for those who are
imaginationally challenged, scratch your armpits...)
Some cats (Put your hands on your head for two ears)
Some rats (put your hands to your face with fingers sticking out like
whiskers)
And Elephants (Put your shoulder to your nose so your arm is a swinging
elephant trunk)
as sure as your born (optional, but here you can pretend you're rocking a
baby in your arms)
But the lovliest of all was the unicorn (The original version I learned you
hold your drink to your forehead... With kids put the back side of your
wrist to your forhead so that your hand is a horn sticking out of the front
of your head)
And now that my officemates are CONVINCED that I'm nuts (ever try to
describe hand motions without doing them?) I need to get back to work...
Thanks for the much needed break...
Have Fun!

Hi Debbie,
The name of the composer of the Unicorn Song is Margie Adam. She has
a web site, where you can get lyrics, chords, songsheets, piano
transcriptions, etc. You can download a Real file and listen to your
heart's content. Good luck.
