I believe Zip put it perfectly.

Perhaps a small committee can be formed to investigate and answer some of the 
questions posed.  Can I suggest Adrian head it up and Berton also be on the 
committee-- Perhaps some other "long time" experience Synagogue musicians can 
be included.. and I would think one or two non musicians for balance.
