I just wanted to mention to all of you that I just received Carol Boyd Leon's 
new album/songbook "Songs From The Heart."  Carol is a very talented writer, 
who has a tremendous sense of simplicity and appropriateness for 
children/youth choir. Her songs are easy to listen to and to learn, and will 
definitely appeal to kids/families. Rather than singing herself, she has a 
wonderful group of children sing the entire album, and it is a real treat, 
especially for us choral people, to listen to them. Many of the songs fit 
into the service, and will work well in a setting where we have to teach 
groups quickly, with little rehearsal time (which we all know alot about). 
Her melodies are within an octave range, so they make immediate musical 
sense, and are not a stretch for singers with limited vocal capabilities. In 
addition, she has an accompanying songbook with the music for us,, and the 
lyrics on separate sheets, ready to reproduce.  I know that Judy has already 
written a review, but, I felt that you'd be interested in an additional 
viewpoint.
