Just wanted to drop a note to all HN'rs. I MISS YOU!!
I can't believe that it was only two weeks ago, that we made such beautiful
music at OSRUI on the banks of lovely Lac La Belle. Or is that Lac Patti La
Belle.
I'm hoping that someone's recording will be put on CD like last year. It's
really quite a good recording.
As Adrian mentioned, years ago I recorded as much of HN as I could on a
4-track. I then edited out false starts and chatter. I sent the master to
Adrian who duplicated it, wrote the J-card liner notes and then sold them to
any attendees who wanted them. They were a wonderful learning tool and
resource. No one made any money and any overage was donated to charity.
For one reason or another we stopped doing this several years ago. I'm glad
that this year CD's were made available to attendees. It really helps. Not
to mention the wonderful memories it recalls.
BTW, I have a language question for anyone who might know the answer. Does
anyone know the origin of the word "balegon"? I think the word means a
"catastrophe" or a "great mess" Is it Hebrew or Yiddish? What is the
etymology of the word? I've heard this word several times in the last year.
And finally a bit of voice-over news. I have just finished recording 4
television and 5 radio spots for the New England Toyota dealers. I'm the
announcer for all of these spots. They will run all summer long. But only
in New England. Let me know if you hear 'em.
That's all, folks. Have a great summer. Be well.
