Hi,
There was a time when OSRUI accepted Canadian money at par for camp fees.
So,
Canadians were actually paying less. But, now there is a Canadian UAHC camp
(Camp
George. This will be it's second summer in operation). However, I did ask if
they would
extend the offer to my Hava Nashira fees for the first summer that I attended
(1998).
They didn't buy that scheme.
The current exchange rate is such that in order to buy an American dollar,
I would
have to fork out about a dollar and a half Canadian. So, it no longer makes
sense to
accept our money at par. Because the value of the things that we pay for
remains more or
less constant, as does the exchange rate, the price changes, but we are,
theoretically,
also making money at the same rate. So, no. Not really. We don't pay more.
(of course, I
work at OSRUI and make American dollars, so none of this really has any bearing
on me)
Lengthily,
Marc
