[HANASHIR:5892] Re: Creative worship services

When I develop creative worship services, I turn to the kids. I use the main
prayers (Barchu, Sh'ma, etc. ) as the "shell" and then talk to the kids (or a
select group of them) about the themes of the other prayers. Then, they write
- as groups or as individuals - short readings about the various themes.

Trust me - it can work. This could either be a project for some of the older
kids you will be doing the service with (2nd - 4th graders) or for some upper
class students to do for the younger kids.

Songs? We tend to use a mix of songs from our regular services so that the
kids can get more practice with them, and the melodies used at camp. The new
Camp Swig CD should help you there as can Shirenu.
