[HANASHIR:5822] RE: Hebrew/English WP for Mac?

I believe Davka Software has several Mac Hebrew fonts. Apple's Hebrew
Language Kit also has fonts, and I think the kit may have some function
that enables right-to-left typing. As I only do songsheets and don't
compose in Hebrew, I also type left to right. It's almost as fast for
me as long as I don't have to compose.

I primarily use two PostScript(r) fonts from Linguist's Software, called
Bethel and Hebraica. They are successors to a very old bitmap-only font
known as SuperHebrew. In addition to all the letters and vowels, they
have all the ta'amim (trope markings) as well as certain other
characters used frequently by Biblical scholars and critics, their main
target market. The other nice feature of these fonts is that where
possible the Hebrew values are mapped to the closest English equivalents
(a for aleph, g for gimel, etc.) I believe Linguist's Software is in
Seattle. It took me quite a time to find them. Beware: if anybody uses
SuperHebrew, the key mapping for a few characters has changed from the
old fonts, so any documents composed with the old fonts need to be
edited if you use the new fonts.

If you can't find Linguist's Software, shoot me an email.... I don't
know where their phone number is at the moment but can probably find it
with a bit of digging.

I will also be away from my email between the 19th and 22d of this
month, so won't be able to attend to replies until then.

Good luck and Chag Sameach.
